The modern world of satellite and space communication is fast-paced and dynamic. It can only be effectively negotiated through the use of creative and innovative practices. Higher education, working with research collaborators, is developing technological innovations that are tremendous catalysts of change. This outcome is achieved through research consortiums, which are a model of collaboration that brings together multiple institutions that are otherwise independent from one another to address a common set of questions using a defined structure and governance model. This results in more high-performing scientist that are ready to tackle the wicked problems of today and tomorrow. As competition for the best talent becomes more intense, organizations are becoming more aggressive and employing strategic practices to attract the best candidates. As the global workforce demographics shift, organizations are increasingly focused on recruiting the top diverse pool of talent.
